Mr. Archer, here at the RICH program we have been focusing on these four main principles:
I matter
I am responsible for my behavior
I am considerate of classmates and others
I use thinking strategies for school success
You used the RICH Principle I Matter to show that even though you had to deal with racial issues you still believed in yourself. The way I use this RICH Principle is by showing self-love and independence. I try and maintain a positive attitude and I’m learning overall how not to be lazy. I Matter has also helped me become more independent and develop into a fine young man. Mr. Archer, you used I am Responsible for my Behavior to show that you weren’t fighting people that were racist because it was virtually useless. This RICH Principle has given me courage to never retaliate towards others, physically, when I lose my temper. You used I am Considerate of my Classmates and Others by sacrificing yourself for this country in World War 2. This RICH Principle has taught me to be more kind towards others. Mr. Archer you used Thinking Strategies for School and Life Success to figure out effective strategies to help you be the best soldier you could be while serving in combat. This RICH Principle has helped me to focus on my school work and improve on all of my grades.
What you went through taught me a major lesson which is to have perseverance in everything that I set out to do. Mr. Archer, you encouraged me to accomplish more that I ever imagined I would be able to. Thank you for being a great leader and visionary in our community.
