About Us
Our history
Since its formation in 1991, RICH has concentrated on the development of its core program - Reach for Success and complementary strategies focusing upon Parent Involvement and Staff Development. As available technology has evolved so too has the RICH model for enhancing student academic achievement and social development.
The Reach for Success program began as a classroom based instruction utilizing a teacher/facilitator to work with young people in elementary and middle schools around a core group of learning principles. Students were helped to explore these learning principles as core values to develop new attitudes towards academic and social success.
Students in the program over time apply these affirming principles in different real life situations at home, in school, and with their peers. These values based on the RICH four guiding principles, when understood, accepted, practiced and internalized by students, help them to shape new attitudes to live by and to monitor their behavior for positive outcomes.
Today, the Reach for Success program model is a mix of classroom facilitation and self-directed online work reviewed and supported by a team of program graduates and staff. All committed to positively impacting the lives of public school students.
