Metanoya Z. Webb, RICH National Spokesperson

Spring 2011

I am extremely thankful to be a graduate and currently, classroom facilitator of a community-based program that focuses on the development of character and social skills for minority children. RICH has helped me grow tremendously as a person. The 4 principles, which I’ve been utilizing since I joined the program back in elementary school, continue to encourage me to maintain a positive attitude and in turn project positive energy towards everything I set out to conquer in life. Without RICH I would NOT be the woman I am today.  Real Talk!

Faith Barclay, RICH Graduate

Spring 2011

I have been a dedicated member of the RICH program for 14 years.  I joined the program back in Elementary School and during that time RICH really helped me develop my character and most importantly, self-confidence. Today I continue to gain strength from the 4 RICH principles, which maintains my determination. I recently graduated from Columbia University and plan to begin my career sometime in the near future. Take my advice:  If you internalize each RICH principles with a deep sincerity of heart, they will forever encourage you to have hope for the future.

Akilah Bird-Watson, Program Director

Spring 2011

I was in the RICH program while in elementary through high school. It’s now an honor to work as the program director. The RICH program  has helped me with my attitude and my self-esteem. The RICH principle: “I Matter” has become my life motto. I live by this principle and allow it to guide me through hard times. This program is definitely capable of giving a chance to those who want it. You meet other teens and form unbreakable ties that will undoubtedly last a lifetime. Meeting and working with the new group of young people in the program is an awesome experience.

Gamielle Marshall, RICH Graduate

Spring 2011

RICH has helped me since the first time I joined the Program. This is so because without it I wouldn’t be where I am now. I am currently serving in the United States Marine Corps, which I am doing very well in. Without my experience with RICH, I am sure I wouldn’t be where I am now. RICH has shown me things and given me confidence that I carry with me everyday. I strongly recommend this program to anyone and everyone. This program shows you how it is to be successful. My closing is my favorite RICH Principle, which is “I believe that I matter”. This I carry everyday with me. Thank you for everything Dr. Dawson.

Sheena Bucknor, RICH Graduate

Spring 2011

I have been a member of the RICH program since Elementary School and have found the program to be extremely beneficial for me. The program helped to enhance my self-esteem, know that I matter and demonstrate responsibility for my own behavior. Most importantly, the program has helped me with public speaking. Growing up, I was very shy but the skills that we learned at RICH helped me overcome that sense of insecurity. I am now am a full time college student, studying Early Childhood  Education with a GPA of 3.6. I highly recommend this program  to students because it is there to help guide and support you from within! RICH  will teach and encourage you to make good decisions for yourself.

Chenille Coston, RICH Graduate

Spring 2011

I attended the RICH program from Elementary School through High School and will continue to give back during my college years. During elementary school, the RICH program helped me resolve my behavior problems, gain more respect for my elders and peers, helped me become more confident and finally and most importantly the 4 RICH principles have become apart of my daily routine…A day doesn’t go by without me using at least 1 principle. I am currently completing my freshman year of college with a major in psychology. I remain focused so that I don’t fall off track. My goal is to go on to Medical School and become a doctor in the next couple of years. I highly recommend this program to students it REALLY helps you better yourself in so many ways!

Joseph B. Barclay, RICH Graduate

Spring 2011

I became a member of the RICH program during the third grade. At that time, I was on the verge of being expelled from school for my bad behavior. As I went through the program, the principles began to make a significant impact in my life. Eventually, I graduated from elementary school as valedictorian. I am now a graduating senior at Polytechnic University where I major in Computer Engineering. I aspire to go on to Law School and eventually establish my own law firm. Not only did RICH help straighten out my life, it released the potential for success that was hidden inside of me. I strongly recommend the RICH program!
