Privacy and Information Security Policy

RICH, Inc Privacy and Information Security Policy is written to meet website policy standards and to help our users understand generally how www.richinc.org site is designed to protect the personal information about its users and how it uses and discloses information to our funders. RICH, Inc website www.richinc.org is a website of the Reach Into Cultural Heights organization under the New York State with exemption granted pursuant to section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. RICH, Inc respects the privacy of our visitors and we do not attempt to track individuals in any manner that link the web information or link to any other databases with the purpose of identifying individual website users. We do not track IP addresses or deposit any “cookies” in an attempt to gain personal information about our website users.

RICH, Inc reserves the right to use “cookies” on its site. Cookies are computer programs that allow RICH, Inc to verify whether a visitor is an authorized user of the online instructional programs and information is collected about a user on a computer system. Program activities at the site are instructional and intended to supplement the public school educational experience with support services that are used to nurture the aspirations of students (elementary through high school). These online services include students, their parents, teachers, and professional administrators looking for innovative online services designed to motivate urban students.

RICH, Inc information obtained and submitted to funders documents the performance outcomes tracking system, including but not limited to the date and time a user visits a registered activity, and learning outcomes. Information gathered is used solely for the purpose to improve the quality of online services for participating students, parents, and the educational community. RICH, Inc under no circumstances use “cookies” to gather personal identifying information about any of its users, personal information described but not limited to the following: student names, parent names, home addresses, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers.

As required, all public school students 18 years and under must submit parent documented permission to participate as a registered student at the RICH, Inc website. Parent signs for child 18 years and under an “Internet Learning Consent and Release Agreement”. RICH, Inc reserves the right to monitor student online activities. In cases the user violates or may be violating internet discipline codes, RICH, Inc reserves the right to restrict the user from participating in online activities at the website.

As required by the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) RICH, Inc will monitor student online activities. RICH, Inc reserves the right to employ and review the results of software that searches, monitors, and/or identifies potential violations of the Internet Acceptable Use Policy.

Registered users have no privacy expectation in the contents of their online personal files and records of their online activity while on the RICH, Inc website.

Registered users should be aware that their personal online student files may be discoverable in court and/or administrative proceedings and in accordance with public records laws. DO NOT USE THIS SITE OR PROVIDE INFORMATION IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ALL THE TERMS OF THIS POLICY.

Disclaimer: Limitation of Liability
  1. Users will indemnify and hold RICH, Inc harmless from any losses sustained by RICH, Inc as a result of intentional misuse of the system by user.
  2. RICH, Inc makes no claims that the functions or the services provided online will be error-free or without defect.
